This publication has been put together to reflect on Sounding Board, which took place on Tuesday 14th October 2025.

Sounding Board was designed to bring together arts workers to listen to each other, learn from each other and strengthen the art being made in our region. It aimed to feel positive, collaborative and informal – with participants invited to speak ‘in draft form’ as we work things out together and tackle tough questions at a tough time. Freelance contributors were paid for their time.
Cultural Collisions invited three critical friends to attend the event and share their thoughts and feelings about the day, as well as their own hopes for the future of our region culturally and creatively.
The team hopes that this publication captures the essence of the day and is of interest to both people who attended the event and those who were unable to attend. Thanks for reading!
