Sowing the seeds of love

Hull New Theatre is encouraging youngsters across the city to reap what they sow in a new project designed to harness the learning potential of live entertainment.

The Grow Your Future initiative aims to make learning more fun by offering schools and education providers ways to engage youngsters in practical, theatrical themed activities.

The first project invites teachers and uniformed group leaders to roll up their sleeves and get dirty with free ‘magic beans’ to celebrate this year’s festive production Jack and the Beanstalk.* Each organisation will be encouraged to grow their own beanstalk, with the group achieving the largest winning an exclusive meet and greet** with this year’s cast, including Hull’s favourite funny man Neil Hurst and Pop Idol runner up Gareth Gates.

To take part leaders must email theatre.marketing@hcandl.co.uk with their name, group, number of members and a postal address. Seeds will be distributed from Monday 6 June with a mass planting planned for Friday 17 June.

Tickets for this year’s panto are on sale now via the Hull City Hall Box Office on 01482 300 306 or at www.hulltheatres.co.uk

* Availability is limited. One packet per 20 youngsters. Seeds will be issued on first come basis.
