The Godber Theatre Foundation presents Don’t Just Sit There

On Monday 10 and Tuesday 11 October, The Godber Theatre Foundation will perform Don’t Just Sit There at Hull Truck Theatre in the Godber Studio.

This is a brand new show for young people and families about ambition in the arts, finding your passion, and being your true self.

Teenage Kimberley is struggling, life is confusing and chaotic, she has low self-esteem and no ambition, but a random meeting with local rapper Quade is about to change all that!

Inspiration can come from anywhere. Quade might want to be Stormzy, but that may have to wait as he puts Kimberley on the path to success!

Don’t Just Sit There is an inspiring new play by BAFTA-winning playwright Jane Thornton (co-author of Shakers), and stars graduates of The Godber Theatre Foundation, an initiative that supports young people from Hull through arts and drama education. Actors Sophie Huckstep and Corey-Phillip Rylands have now graduated from university, and return to Hull to make their professional debuts on the Hull Truck stage.

The production’s director, costume designer, set designer, lighting designer and assistant producer are all also alumni of The Godber Theatre Foundation, who are ready to showcase their talents back in their own city.

Don’t Just Sit There is a fun, vibrant show suitable for the whole family that you are not going to want to miss this October.

The show is supported by The Smile Foundation and is also touring across Hull primary schools this autumn.

The show is aimed at families with children aged 8-14 but is suitable for people of all ages. Tickets are £13.50 each.
