The muddiest challenge in East Yorkshire is back

Hull and East Yorkshire’s only hospice is bringing back the region’s muddiest event!  Dove House Hospice is looking for hundreds of people to get caked in mud on Sunday 13th March at their five-mile muddy obstacle course  – and you can sign up now for just £25.

Taking place in the beautiful grounds of Sledmere House near Driffield, Get Caked participants will climb over, jump through, crawl under and run across natural and man-made obstacles with the aim to get as muddy as possible.

The hospice is always looking for new ways to raise the much-needed funds to keep their doors open.  Anita Brien, Events Coordinator at Dove House, said: “We rely on our local community to help us raise the money we need to care for our patients and their families and taking part in events like Get Caked is a great way to support us.  Not only is it a fun day out with friends but you can celebrate on the finish line with a medal and slice of cake – perfect!”

Dove House Hospice cares for people living with a terminal illness across Hull and East Yorkshire.  A big part of what the hospice does is to support friends and family, both throughout an illness and after their loved one has died.  For many patients, getting a referral to Dove House is scary. Teams of nurses, doctors, healthcare assistants and therapists work with patients as individuals, finding out what they enjoy, what helps them to feel safe and what makes them feel themselves. The hospice relies on donations from supporters to ensure they can continue providing this special care.

As well as participants, the hospice is looking for local companies to help to create some of the obstacles. If you think you could help with donations of tyres or cargo nets, or anything else you think the hospice could use, please get in touch with the events team on 01482 785795.

You can sign up to take part and Get Caked! in mud on the Dove House Hospice website: www.dovehouse.org.uk/getcaked
