Thousands of Squid Game-style recruitment cards found across Hull

Thousands of Squid Game-style recruitment cards have been mysteriously placed around Hull to hire people for in-demand warehouse, logistics and FCMG jobs.

The #JobsNotGames stunt – by recruitment business gap personnel group – encourages people to scan the card’s QR code to register on their website. Those who sign up will be contacted by a recruiter to help them find a suitable job in their area.

Locals are finding the cards – which depict nothing but the iconic circle, square and triangle from the Netflix show Squid Game – in shops, cafes, on lampposts and bus stops.

Chrissie Small, regional director for gap personnel’s National Recruitment Centre said: “It’s no secret that we are in the midst of a huge labour crisis right now, so we wanted to do something completely outside the box to raise awareness of all the jobs up for grabs and tackle the shortage head on – whilst having a bit of fun at the same time.”

According to the Office National Statistics, UK job vacancies hit a record 1,034,000 in the three months to August 2021. Increasing amounts of businesses are incentivising jobs through benefits, higher pay rates and sign-up bonuses to attract the staff required to meet demand.

gap personnel group recruits for businesses ranging from retailers to food manufacturers in 22 cities in England and Wales. Interested applicants can register for gap’s #JobsNotGames campaign on www.gap-personnel.com/jobs-not-games.
