Tigers Trust raises over £16,000 at A Question of Sport community event

The Tigers Trust were thrilled to welcome a record breaking sold out crowd to the Kingston Suite at the MKM Stadium on Thursday 5th February for their annual A Question of Sport fundraising event.

The night, hosted by Darren Lethem and supported by ATR Building Services as headline sponsor and Whitehead’s Fish and Chips as associate sponsor, brought together Hull City’s past and present, all united to raise vital funds that will support children, young people and adults across Hull and East Yorkshire through the Trust’s sports, wellbeing and education programmes.

The event featured an impressive line up of guests. Hull City Captain Lewie Coyle appeared alongside fan favourites Oli McBurnie and Matt Crooks on the players panel, while Head Coach Sergej Jakirović, together with Assistant Head Coaches Marko Salatović and Dean Holden, formed a strong management panel. The legends panel welcomed club icons Nick Barmby, Andy Dawson and John Eyre.

While the night provided lively entertainment, friendly competition and plenty of laughs, it also offered moments of reflection and inspiration as Tigers Trust highlighted the impact of their work in the community.

Attendees were presented with powerful statistics and real‑life stories that highlighted how the charity improves wellbeing, increases participation, and creates life‑changing opportunities for local people. Tigers Trust Director of Community, Lorna Leach, expressed her appreciation for the continued support from the wider community. Two participants, Scott from Disability Walking Football and Mike from Walking Football, received a warm reception as they took to the stage to share how the Trust has personally supported them, offering a moving reminder of the charity’s impact every day.

After a series of entertaining quizzes and challenges, the players team proudly claimed victory for the second year in a row.

Guests also had the chance to win a variety of fantastic prizes through raffles and both live and silent auctions, with every ticket sold and every bid placed contributing directly to the Trust’s vision and mission to dare, inspire, engage and improve communities.

The Trust are delighted to announce that this year’s event raised over £16,000, an incredible total that will make a significant difference to lives across the region. These funds will help the Trust continue to expand its programmes, reach more participants and strengthen its commitment to transforming communities through positive activity.

Speaking about the event, Head of Business and Operations Richard Dexter at the Tigers Trust, said: “We were absolutely delighted with this year’s Tigers Trust A Question of Sport event. The energy in the room was fantastic, and the brilliant feedback we’ve received shows just how much everyone enjoyed the evening. As ever, the panellists were all on great form and were very competitive. Congratulations as well to the winning team on the night, the Hull City players. We hope their success on the night is a sign of more great results to come throughout the rest of the season.

Events like this are vital for us, not only for raising essential funds that support our charity’s work, but also for shining a light on the impact Tigers Trust continues to make across our communities.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and supported the cause. We are incredibly grateful for the continued backing of Hull City, whose support plays such an important role in everything we do.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to our headline sponsors, ATR Building Services, and our associate sponsors, Whitehead’s Fish and Chips, for helping make the night such a success.”
