Yorkshire Wolds poultry business reaches final of local business awards

The team at an East Yorkshire poultry business has reached the final in two categories of a regional business award that celebrates excellence, innovation, and outstanding achievements in the business community.

Middleton on the Wolds business, Soanes Poultry, has been shortlisted in the Large Business of the Year and the Environmental and Sustainability categories of the Hull & East Yorkshire Business Awards.

Soanes Poultry’s MD, Ben Lee is delighted with the news: “Many of our team live in Hull, and we’re proud to support initiatives in the city, including EMS’s food poverty work and Ganton School’s Chop and Change programme. We’re very proud to reach the final in two categories of this prestigious awards scheme, which is celebrating 25 years of excellence this year.”

Soanes Poultry faces competition from Integra Buildings Ltd and Spencer Group for the Large Business of the Year, and Ashcourt Group and Premier Modular for the Environmental and Sustainability Award. The team will learn whether they have been successful at an awards ceremony hosted by TV presenter, Gethin Jones, at DoubleTree by Hilton Hull on 20th November.

Soanes has been rearing and preparing chicken since 1947. It sells its Yorkshire-reared chicken to butchers and independent retailers throughout Yorkshire, and to wholesalers and catering butchers nationwide.
