Zetron, a global leader in integrated mission critical solutions, is proud to celebrate a team of local employees who recently took part in a community volunteering day with The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) Hull and Humber, helping plant more than 80 trees in North Ferriby.

As part of one of Zetron’s volunteering days, a team of five set off early, equipped with spades, wellies and enthusiasm. Joined by other local volunteers, the group spent the morning digging more than one hundred holes across the muddy, open site before breaking for lunch and returning to plant a wide variety of trees. Species ranged from young spruces to established trees over six feet tall, marking a meaningful contribution to the long term biodiversity of the area.
The impact
The newly planted trees will support local wildlife habitats, improve soil quality and contribute to long-term carbon absorption in the region. The site at North Ferriby forms part of a wider conservation effort led by TCV to restore natural landscapes and strengthen green spaces accessible to the local community.
Why volunteering matters to Zetron
Zetron encourages employees to give back to the communities they operate in, supporting volunteer activities that strengthen local resilience and promote environmental wellbeing. Planting trees is a positive, practical way for teams to make a lasting impact, helping to support natural habitats for years to come.
Kat Jeffery, one of the volunteers from Zetron, said: “It was refreshing to spend the day outdoors together, doing something completely different from our usual roles. Planting trees as a team gave us space to talk, reconnect and contribute to something meaningful for the local environment. We left muddy, tired and proud of what we’d achieved- plus we clocked up more than 15,000 steps, which is always a bonus. It felt good to know our efforts will have an impact for years to come.”

The Conservation Volunteers
The Conservation Volunteers connect people with nature, working across the UK to restore green spaces, protect wildlife and create healthier environments for everyone.
Their mission is simple: Connecting people together to protect and restore nature, delivering lasting benefits for both.
A representative from The Conservation Volunteers said: “We were delighted to welcome the Zetron team to North Ferriby. Their hard work and enthusiasm made a real difference to the project. Community involvement is at the heart of what we do, and support from organisations like Zetron helps us protect and restore nature for future generations.”
Zetron’s volunteering programme
Zetron provides employees with volunteering days each year, enabling staff to support causes that matter to them and build stronger connections within their communities. The programme encourages teamwork, wellbeing and a shared sense of purpose beyond the mission critical environments the teams operate in daily.
