A Middleton on the Wolds based family chicken rearing business has partnered with a North Yorkshire business for its gas supply.
Clive Soanes Broilers has moved its gas supply to Rectory Gas Supplies in a bid to improve service levels.
“As a business, we much prefer to deal with other local, family owned businesses, where you can put a face to the name and excellent customer service comes as standard, so Rectory Gas Supplies was a natural choice,” said Clive Soanes Broilers MD, Claire Wright.
Rectory Gas Supplies MD, Liam Milner, is the third generation of the family-owned business which is based at Scrayingham. He said: “Although we are one of the largest independent LPG suppliers in the UK, we never lose sight of our roots and pride ourselves on exceptional customer service.
“We’re delighted and proud to be working with Claire and the team to supply gas to all six of the Clive Soanes Broilers farms.”
Clive Soanes Broilers is the sister company to Soanes Poultry at Middleton on the Wolds and is named after founder Tom’s son, who grew the business from four broiler sheds in the garden at Church Hill Farm in the 1950s, and paved the way to the business that it is today.
Rectory Gas Supplies was established in 1988 by farmer Ted Milner, who saw an opportunity to supply the farms where he knew people used gas. They began by supplying gas bottles primarily around York and Pocklington. The business grew steadily over the years as they started supplying more homes and businesses and delivering further afield. Liam joined the business in 2010 and developed the bulk gas side of the business.
