ACA celebrate winning The World Design Awards 2024

Beverley-based Alessandro Caruso Architecture & Interiors Ltd (ACA) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded its third World Design Award (2024) for the design of Porritt Care Village in Ramsbottom.

The World Design Awards stand as one of the globe’s most esteemed honours in the architecture and design domain. This accolade acknowledges exceptional concepts that revolutionise architectural design by incorporating innovative technologies, materials, programmes, aesthetics, and spatial arrangements.

The award win showcased ACA’s design of Porritt Care Village on behalf of Millennium Care, which exemplifies ACA’s commitment to sustainable, people-centric architecture that enhances community well-being.

Porritt Care Village is a state-of-the-art, 52-bed care home designed to provide specialised dementia care and foster intergenerational community engagement. ACA employed a holistic approach to design, emphasising sustainability and community integration. The Y-shaped building layout optimises natural light and ventilation while blending seamlessly with the surrounding Green Belt landscape. The design highlights the use of eco-friendly materials and the focus on creating functional yet aesthetically pleasing spaces that enhance residents’ quality of lives.

Alessandro Caruso, Managing Director at ACA, said: “Our mission is to create happier and healthier environments that enhance quality of life. Having personally witnessed the transformative impact of well-being-focused designs in improving individuals’ experiences, I am excited to see our vision come to life.”

Omair Haider, Managing Director at Millennium Care, said: “This World Design Award is reflective of both ACA’s creative design prowess and the inherent energies that permeate the design. It has been a true career highlight for us working with ACA on the design of this project.”
