An adult evening with Billy and an afternoon of ballet at Hull New Theatre

There will be plenty of gags and bags of ballet as two very different shows head to Hull New Theatre.

National treasure, and without doubt one of Britain’s most talented and best loved comedians and performers, Billy Pearce returns to the venue with his hilarious adult show on 28 April 2022.

The multi-award winner, who has won just about every comedy gong going, has played Hull New Theatre on numerous occasions, most recently as Buttons in its 1999/2000 panto Cinderella.

He said: “I am very excited and really looking forward to be returning to Hull for my evening of adult comedy.”

Since rising to fame after appearing on New Faces in 1986, the comedian’s career has seen him performing on TV, live stand-up, musicals, panto and cabaret – it will be a very welcome return when Billy is back on the boards in Hull.

Before the adult evening, an afternoon of first-class dance beckons when the McNicol Ballet Collective present Awakenings at Hull New Theatre.

This debut programme of world premiere ballets by choreographer Andrew McNicol will be ‘en pointe’ on 21 November 2021 at 2:30pm.

These four exciting contemporary ballets have all been inspired by musical composition. The show includes a brand-new reimagined version of Firebird, which will be performed in what is the 50th anniversary since Stravinsky’s death.

Awakenings will also features Of Silence, an exploration of hope, connection and belonging, In Ecstasy and completing the programme is Bates Beats an energetic, exuberant work conceived to showcase the power, excellence and individuality of the McNicol Ballet Collective’s incredible dancers, set to a pulsating soundtrack.
