Back to Ours launches ‘Now That’s What I Call an Orchestra’ event

Get ready to experience a sweet symphony like no other! Back to Ours, a Hull-based Arts Council England NPO charity known for delivering unique arts and cultural experiences, is thrilled to announce the launch of a brand-new event: Now That’s What I Call an Orchestra.

This special event, in partnership with Eclectic Music and part-funded by Hull City Council, will take place across the weekend of Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September, bringing live orchestral music directly to the streets of Hull.

The event begins on Saturday 14 September, as the Eclectic Orchestra tours West Hull, followed by a tour of East Hull on Sunday 15 September. Both days, the orchestra will travel around the city on a double-decker bus, making stops at various locations along the way to perform an hour of live eclectic orchestral music.

This special event is entirely free—no tickets needed—so just turn up and join in the fun as familiar faces from your neighbourhood come together to celebrate the power of music.

Back to Ours and Eclectic Music are excited to present an unforgettable musical journey. The performances will include a diverse selection of fantastic tunes, from epic movie soundtracks to modern classics, ensuring there’s a little something for everyone. Whether you’re a seasoned music lover or a curious first-timer, this event promises to be a toe-tapping experience right on your doorstep.

Louise Yates, Artistic Director and CEO of Back to Ours says, “We take pride in our hyper-local approach and we are embedded in our communities. Our events are always about people coming together, experiencing something special and importantly, having a good time. Seeing crowds gather with smiles on their faces never gets old, it always warms my heart.”

In the true spirit of inclusion and community, Now That’s What I Call an Orchestra aims to bring people together and to create lasting memories. By taking the Eclectic Orchestra on the road, Back to Ours is dedicated to livening up the streets of Hull, especially areas where access to arts and culture is often limited.

This event is more than just a concert — it’s about community, connection, and making the arts accessible to all.

Daniel Thompson, Founder and Creative Director of Eclectic Music says, “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Back to Ours for Now That’s What I Call an Orchestra.

By taking the Eclectic Orchestra out onto the streets, we’re making sure that incredible music is accessible to all. We can’t wait to see the smiles, as we stop and perform at each location – it’s going to be a truly special experience for everyone involved.”

So, Hull, get ready to spread the word like confetti! Invite your nan, your pals, and anyone else who loves great music. Shout it from the rooftops and make sure no one misses out on this extraordinary event.
