Barratt Developments site managers in the East Riding of Yorkshire recognised as best in the country

Two Barratt and David Wilsons Homes site managers from Barratt Developments Yorkshire East have won a top national award for the quality of the homes they are building.

Richard Chamberlain from Hesselwood Park in Hessle and Jamie Stephenson from Poppy Fields in Cottingham have won these prestigious awards, marking them down as among the very best in the country.

In total Barratt and David Wilson Homes site managers have won 96 Pride in the Job Quality Awards, which is more than any other housebuilder. This is the 19th year in a row that site managers from Barratt and David Wilson Homes have won more of these awards than any other housebuilder. This achievement underlines just how important Barratt and David Wilson Homes sees building high quality homes and its long-term commitment to being the best in the industry.

The awards rate site managers against key criteria such as technical expertise, health and safety, consistency, leadership and attention to detail. The awards celebrate the vital role site managers play in ensuring new homes are delivered on-time, on safe sites, and to the highest quality standards.

Every site manager who is registered with the NHBC is automatically entered into the awards, with just 450 winners being selected from over 11,000 entrants, showing how difficult they are to win.

These awards follow on from Barratt site manager Kirk Raine being named as the Supreme winner of last year’s NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Awards. In January Kirk was named as the Supreme winner in the Large Builder Category for his work managing The Grove at Doseley Park, near Telford. This is the sixth time that a Barratt site manager has won the Supreme award in the past eight years.

Daniel Smith, Managing Director at Barratt Developments Yorkshire East, said: “It is great news for our customers and the business that Richard Chamberlain and Jamie Stephenson have won a prestigious Pride in the Job Quality Award. The awards showcase what it takes to be a top site manager and demonstrate our long-term commitment to looking after our customers and building high quality homes. We are very proud to have won more of these awards than any other housebuilder for 19 years in a row now.”

These awards closely follow Barratt Developments being awarded 5 stars by its customers for satisfaction in the annual Home Builders Federation (HBF) new homes survey. To be rated 5 star means that more than 90% of its customers would recommend one of its homes to a friend, with Barratt being the only major national housebuilder to be rated 5 star for 14 years in a row.

Barratt Developments, which includes Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes brands, has multiple developments within East Riding of Yorkshire, including Harrier Chase in Brough, Harland Park and Poppy Fields in Cottingham, Minster View and Queens Court in Beverley, and Hesslewood Park and Fleet Green in Hessle.
