Beverley Gin festival is back at the Minster this June

With live bands, street food, a wide selection of gins, gin tasting sessions, and much more, Beverley Gin Festival is back this June at Beverley Minster.

Rob Snaith

The fourth annual Beverley Gin Festival will run over Friday 14 and Saturday 15 June, said organiser and festival director, Rob Snaith.

“We will have some of the very best local, British and international gins for residents and visitors to enjoy and there’ll be live local entertainment all weekend, including two great bands, and mouth-watering street food.

“We will be doing some distillery talks and tasters with Wictsun Distillery, from Market Weighton, who make gin, rum and vodka and will be offering a variety of gins, including pink, orange, lemon and dry.”

As well as gin, the festival provides a selection of other alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, including cocktails, Prosecco and craft beer from Atom of Beverley and Hull.

“Although our main drink is of course gin, we pride ourselves on catering for all preferences at Beverley Gin festival, including non-alcoholic gins and beers.”

Festival catering is street food from The Blind Swine, of Willerby, what Rob calls ‘proper street food’ specialising in serving homemade, hot and tasty dishes such as Carnitas Nachos, Smashed Burger, Shrimp Tostadas, Cincinnati dog, Glaze the Jerk and Swine Poteen, with special homemade sauces, marinades and coatings.

“We’re super excited to have The Blind Swine cooking for us this year – they’ve rightly got a fantastic reputation and a great, growing following based on cooking from scratch using locally sourced ingredients. We know you’re going to LOVE this food – and they’ll be providing a menu covering all preferences with a menu tailored to the festival. To say we were impressed would be an understatement.”

Beverley Gin Festival’s music offering is on a bigger scale than in previous years with two local bands, Turn Up the Sun on Friday night, and Little Kings on Saturday night.

“Both bands play great, crowd-pleasing, sing along favourites and are well known on the local live music circuit,” added Rob.

Further entertainment comes in the form of table magician Rich Reynolds who will be wowing festival goers during the Saturday afternoon sessions at the Minster. “Rich is real class, a totally brilliant magician and will be working the room while people are enjoying their food and drinks!

“And the Minster creates such a unique atmosphere, with its historic setting, architecture, light and acoustics, which will help make sure you have the very best time at Beverley Gin Festival.”

With prices starting at £20pp for each of the four sessions, ‘tickets have been selling fast’ and include two drinks, a Beverley Minster-etched festival glass tumbler, a festival metal straw, Beverley Gin Festival custom designed festival programme guide and pen.
