Beverley Musical Theatre is delighted to announce its upcoming production of the iconic musical Grease, hitting the stage at Hull Truck Theatre from Tuesday 16th – Saturday 20th June.
Since its electrifying debut on Broadway and the West End in the early 1970s, Grease has remained one of the world’s most popular and enduring musicals. Funny, frank, and bursting with unforgettable hits including “Greased Lightnin’,” “Hopelessly Devoted to You,” “You’re The One That I Want,” and “Summer Nights,” this beloved show follows the story of Danny and Sandy as they navigate high school life, friendships, and first love, all set to a rock ’n’ roll soundtrack that has defined generations.
Audiences can expect a vibrant and energetic new production from the same cast and creative team who previously delighted audiences with Kinky Boots and Rock of Ages, bringing their trademark energy, quality, and passion back to the stage.
Packed with slicked-back hair, swing skirts, and the timeless spirit of summer romance, this promises to be another standout production from Beverley Musical Theatre.
Director Mandy Pearson said: “It has been a privilege to be involved in such an iconic production alongside an exceptionally talented cast and creative team, who have embraced the storytelling from the outset to fully capture the spirit and nostalgia of the show.
This is my first experience directing an adult company, and I have been greatly supported by everyone involved, particularly by our choreographer whose creative vision is outstanding.
I am thoroughly looking forward to seeing all the elements come together on stage, and I hope the energy, enjoyment, and sense of fun that has filled rehearsals will translate to the audience — bringing to life the toe-tapping numbers and vibrant world of Rydell High.”
This production is directed by Mandy Pearson, with choreography by Rebecca Kingston, bringing fresh energy and dynamic staging to this classic musical.
Grease features a book, music, and lyrics by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey.
