Caremark Hull & East Riding is rethinking the way home care is delivered locally after expanding its fleet of eBikes to help reduce emissions and make journeys between customer visits more efficient.

The Hessle-based home care provider has added 12 new eBikes, giving its care assistants a practical, lower-emission alternative to car travel on selected local routes.
The investment forms part of Caremark Hull & East Riding’s wider focus on delivering care in a more sustainable way, while also helping care assistants avoid traffic delays and spend more of their working day supporting customers in their own homes. Since introducing the new eBikes, average journey times for those using them have fallen from 17 minutes to just five minutes.
Graham Precious, Director of Caremark Hull & East Riding, described the initiative as a meaningful step forward, commenting: “At Caremark, we want to lead by example and show that home care can be delivered in a smarter, greener and more sustainable way.
“Our investment in Eskuta eBikes is helping us reduce our reliance on cars on selected local routes, lower our environmental impact and make day-to-day journeys easier for our staff. Most importantly, it gives our team more time to focus on what matters most: providing consistent, responsive care and companionship to the people who rely on us.”
The eBikes are built and engineered like motorcycles, with a top speed of 15mph and powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. Each bike also includes storage, enabling care assistants to carry essential supplies with them while travelling between visits.
Clare Kulik, Sales Director at Eskuta, commented: “It’s fantastic to see Caremark Hull & East Riding taking such a forward-thinking approach to community care. The team has embraced a practical solution that not only supports sustainability goals but also helps care assistants move more efficiently between visits and spend more time with the people they support. We’re proud to see the Eskuta eBikes playing a part in that positive impact locally.”
Marie Wood, Care Manager at Caremark Hull & East Riding, added: “This is a fantastic investment in our team, our customers and the local community. The eBikes offer a more sustainable way for care assistants to get around, while also helping them avoid traffic delays and spend more quality time delivering the care and companionship to the people they support. It is a simple but effective change that is already making a difference on the routes where the eBikes are being used.”
