Charities Pensions Club confirms partners and events for 2022

With the mission to help pension professionals in the charity sector share industry knowledge and best practice, Charities Pensions Club is resuming its wide-ranging events programme for 2022.

The club has confirmed that pensions advisory firm Isio and international law firm CMS will continue their roles as partners, enabling Charities Pensions Club (CPC) to offer the very latest insight, advice and guidance to its members. The CPC Spring Meeting and networking drinks will take place on Tuesday 26th April at the CMS offices in London, which can be attended by members in-person or virtually.

Neil Smith, Partner at CMS, said: “We are very much looking forward to hosting April’s event. The Charities Pensions Club events are tailored to members and focus on current, practical issues facing charity pension schemes. At the event in April, we will be discussing transferring to a master trust, approaches to GMP equalisation and the challenges presented by the Pensions Regulator’s forthcoming Single Code of Practice, as well as opening up the floor to members to discuss the matters most affecting them.”

Charities Pensions Club was originally formed to support a small group of pension professionals in the charity sector, offering a platform for discussing topical matters. The club has grown steadily over the years and now has 16 members, including Age UK, RNIB, Barnardo’s, National Trust, Mencap and Cancer Research UK, as well as many other charities.

Gemma Woodall, Director at Isio, said: “As charities continue to feel the impact of the pandemic, the role of Charities Pensions Club has become even more valuable, providing the latest insight, expertise and opportunity to share experiences with peers. We’re committed to supporting the CPC as they help charitable organisations navigate these challenging times.”

By offering the latest guidance, peer discussion, seminars, networking opportunities and practical resources, Charities Pensions Club helps pension professionals to navigate industry changes and remain ahead of the curve.

Chloe Scragg, Director at Charities Pensions Club, said: “The last two years have been turbulent for all, especially charities. It’s estimated that the third sector saw a loss of £12.4bn because of the pandemic, so CPC is here to offer support and motivation both now and long into the future. The knowledge our partners share is invaluable to our members, helping their organisations to become more agile and competitive.”

Following the CPC Spring Meeting in April, upcoming CPC events include the Joint CPC and PLSA Meeting (28th June), the CPC Joint Partner Meeting (15th September), where CMS and Isio will discuss the latest topics, the CPC Autumn Meeting (10th November), and a festive Christmas Lunch in December.
