Cottingham Open Gardens blossoms with huge fundraising total

Dove House Hospice says that it was a delight to see this year’s Cottingham Open Gardens return to the community on Sundays 4 and 11 June, with 19 gardens and residences taking part.

Gardeners sold plants, enjoyed cream teas and encouraged visitors to take part in the Open Gardens raffle and in doing so helped to raise £6,281.21 for the local charity.

Dan Clipson from Dove House Hospice said: “We are delighted with the success of this year’s Cottingham Open Gardens. This long-standing event in the community sees homeowners working tirelessly across the year to ensure their gardens are in pristine condition for visitors to enjoy and it’s fantastic to see their hard work pay off in support of the hospice.

Each year, we are entirely reliant on events of this kind taking place across Hull and East Yorkshire and are always looking for new gardens, residences and other interesting features to add to the Open Gardens for our visitors to enjoy”.

Cottingham Open Gardens will return on Sundays 9 and 16 June 2024.
