Goldie Hawn and Kate Hudson, Liza Minnelli and Judy Garland, there’s something undeniably close about a daughter and mother relationship, especially when it comes to brides, weddings and that ‘special day’.
Ask Georgia and Nicole (Nikki) Armstrong, of Little Weighton, who teamed up two years ago to create Couture Bridal Hair, which has been making a name for itself on the Yorkshire wedding scene.
Couture Bridal Hair is driven by Georgia’s passion for preparing hair for brides and their wedding party, including the mother-of-the-bride, the bridesmaids, flower girls and bridal party.
“It is something that I have always been interested in,” said Georgia, “and setting up with Mum was a logical thing to do because of her experience, and the fact we have an easy, strong relationship together. It feels like quite a special partnership.”
The mother and daughter team who run an exclusive, country salon near Beverley, have set out to offer a service that is bespoke, personal, high quality, and aims to give the bride and the bridal party a ‘super special day’.
“We want to generate fantastic, positive, happy, memorable feelings for everyone involved and for weddings and ceremonies that take place in amazing venues,” added Georgia.

Georgia, who trained at East Riding College, continues to improve her business and beauty/hairdressing skills with ongoing training and has learned growing up with mother Nikki, who has more than 30 years experience as a hairdresser and who ran a separate hair and beauty salon for four years.
As trained stylists, they are well versed in the latest trends and techniques in cutting and colouring, while not losing sight of traditional approaches to hairdressing and salon work.
Nikki said: “We feel Couture Bridal Hair’s services are all about attention to detail, precision and passion from the initial consultation onwards, services that extend beyond mere styling to tailored individual preferences, integrating cuts, colours and additional treatments.
