The former Emmerdale actor stars as Bob Browning and directs and produces a new British family Christmas film alongside Toyah Willcox, Peter Purves and Victoria Ekanoye.

Daniel Coll as Santa

Filming has wrapped on Santa Express The Movie, with British and Irish actor and filmmaker Daniel Coll leading the cast as Bob Browning, a man whose greatest wish is to play Father Christmas aboard his local steam railway.

Alongside his starring role, Coll directs and produces the feature through Picture Point Films. Familiar to television audiences as DI Frank Blackmore in Emmerdale, his screen credits also include Braveheart, The Crown, Coronation Street and EastEnders. His theatre career includes Les Misérables and the original West End production of Billy Elliot.

Written by David C. Thorp, Santa Express The Movie brings together a cast including Toyah Willcox, Peter Purves, Victoria Ekanoye, Lisa George, Fiona Sinnott, Olwen May, Andy Dunn, Joe Savino and Richard Ashton.

Coll’s Bob Browning anchors the story, while Blue Peter and Doctor Who favourite Peter Purves plays Father Christmas.

York’s historic streets and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway provide the setting for a family film that pairs Yorkshire character with the spectacle of a heritage steam railway.

With filming complete, the production now moves into post-production.
