Middleton-on-the-Wolds based Soanes Poultry has promoted Robert Laird to the position of Business Development Manager.

Mr Laird joined Soanes Poultry in 2021 and worked in the warehouse and in customer service before his latest move.

Soanes Poultry’s MD, Ben Lee said: “Robert’s well-deserved promotion is part of our people development plan that identifies members of the team with the potential to progress within the business.

“Over the last two years, Robert has acquired extensive knowledge of our business, demonstrated exceptional commitment, and shown a clear understanding of our future plans. This well-deserved promotion is a natural progression for him, and we wish him every success.”

Mr Laird said: “I’m excited about this new role that gives me responsibility for gaining new customers and working with the operations and production teams to supply high-quality chicken with exceptional service. Everyone at Soanes Poultry is so helpful and supportive, and I couldn’t be happier to have been trusted with the promotion.”

Mr Laird will also be responsible for developing new products in line with customer requirements and for onboarding and launching new product lines.

When he’s not working, Mr Laird, who lives in Driffield, enjoys spending time with his family, walking his dogs and watching films.

Soanes Poultry is a family-owned business which has been rearing and preparing chicken since 1947. It employs 120 people and sells its chicken to butchers, independent retailers and restaurants in Yorkshire and to wholesalers and catering butchers nationwide.
