Commercial glazing specialists EYG has enjoyed a bumper first quarter of its new financial year having already secured orders worth more than half the total value of contracts over the previous 12 months.
The success is being driven by its ever-increasing reputation with specialist housebuilders, particularly on high-end developments in desirable locations.
The Hull-based business, part of the EYG Group which has been established more than 50 years, has established itself as a go to glazing supplier with a number of specialist housebuilders across Yorkshire.
And this is something sales and estimating director Rich Saunders says the business is keen to build upon throughout 2024 and beyond.
“Working with quality local housebuilders has proved a really successful area of business for us over the past few years, and we are seeing the benefits of having being involved in a number of high-end developments, with our name known for quality and reliability,” he said.
“We already have glazing contracts secured for new build sites which will run into 2025, and we are currently installing on a number of developments across Yorkshire.
“Already in 2024 we have secured a contract on a housing development worth £1.6m, which is for a larger scale new build project in East Yorkshire to supply all windows and doors.
“We also recently completed installations on some exclusive £1m five-bedroom executive homes in East Yorkshire, which have stunning full length feature windows on the front aspects and really make them stand out as homes out of the ordinary.”
‘Reliability key for housebuilders’
Nick Ward, managing director of EYG, believes there are several key factors contributing to the growing success in the housebuilding sector.
“It’s all about reliability, making sure the products are of the quality promised, and that you are on site on time to install windows and doors when you say you will. Housing developers don’t like any delays in getting their homes onto the market,” he said.
“We’ve had a number of calls in recent years where we’ve had to take over the windows and doors element of projects because developers have been let down by the companies who were contracted to complete the glazing works.
“In an industry where some seek the cheapest supply option, we’ve not been prepared to get into that arena. We offer quality products, which is backed up by the expertise of our design and manufacture team and directors with decades of experience.
“Our dedication to quality, providing bespoke products and meeting deadlines and budgets has led to some very solid relationships developing and a great reputation in the industry which we are all focussed on maintaining.”
Contacts also secured with care home developers
More recently the business has won a series of contracts with developers of care home facilities, and is set to start work on a £300,000 glazing contract with Carter Lauren Construction in the Cotswolds.
“That’s another high-quality installation as the development is being built in Cotswold brick and we are manufacturing and installing cream flush casement windows to give a great aesthetic feel,” added Mr Saunders.
Established in 1971, EYG Commercial is one of the leading fabricators and installers of aluminium and UPVC products in the UK, and a one-stop shop for the construction industry, delivering projects in sectors including health, housing, hospitality, education retail and office build.
Products are manufactured in its own 70,000 sq ft factory in Hull, with the firm having been chosen to install sound-proof windows in airport hotels, to glaze international airports and exclusive London apartment complexes.
