Gardeners help fundraise for an amazing cause with Cottingham Open Gardens

This summer sees the return of Cottingham Open Gardens as budding gardeners within the Cottingham area collaborate to raise vital funds for Dove House Hospice.

Opening their gardens on Sundays 4 and 11 June between 10am and 4pm, the event will feature a varied mix of garden sizes, gardening styles, and fundraising activities which help to make the weekends a fantastic family outing.

Gemma Hindley, Fundraising Assistant at Dove House Hospice, said: “Open Gardens are hugely popular events that take place throughout Hull and East Yorkshire in aid of the hospice. Last year, Cottingham Open Gardens raised over £9,000 for the hospice and we are incredibly grateful to all of our gardens that take part as they are helping to ensure the hospice can provide care for patients and their families within the local area. Some gardens also offer additional activities such as arts and crafts, cakes and refreshments, so there is something for everyone to enjoy whilst visiting the gardens.”

Event programmes and maps are now on sale priced at £4 each and are available from a number of stockists in Cottingham, including the Dove House Hospice shop. For more information, please contact the Fundraising team at fundraising@dovehouse.org.uk or call 01482 785743.
