McDonald’s has launched a public consultation seeking the views of the community on plans for a new restaurant on Hedon Road. An online portal has been developed with further detail about the proposals, and a newsletter has been distributed to residents.
The proposed site is located off Hedon Road, to the south west of Marfleet Roundabout. Having previously been developed, the site represents a good opportunity to redevelop a vacant site. The multi-million-pound investment would transform the prominent site, and create around 100 new, local jobs, with market-leading career progression opportunities.
The development will also see Hull City Council benefit, with business rates of around £40,000 being paid to the Council for investment into vital local services.
Recognising the importance of community consultation, McDonald’s have launched an online portal where further detail is available. The views of residents and nearby businesses will help inform how McDonald’s progress plans for a new store and a consultation has been launched to hear them. The portal can be accessed at www.mcdonaldsconsultation.co.uk/hedonroad. Feedback will close on Tuesday 8 July.
Annie Newman, Senior Acquisition Surveyor at McDonald’s, said: “We’re excited to start sharing our plans for a new McDonald’s restaurant to the Marfleet community. This development would deliver around 100 new, local jobs, and provide a multi-million-pound investment into the local economy, at a time of economic uncertainty.
“The site, located off Hedon Road, is ideally placed to serve residents and visitors in Marfleet. We’re confident that residents and local businesses will recognise the value of greater choice, and the benefits of having a reliable and convenient restaurant from a recognised brand serving food at reasonable prices.
“We’re looking forward to working closely with the community and receiving feedback on our plans. We’d like to encourage everyone interested to visit our website and make their views known.”
