The team at a Yorkshire heat recovery from refrigeration (HRFR) business is celebrating after reaching the final of a national refrigeration award.
Beverley-based DK Heat Recovery has been shortlisted for the Retail Project of the Year award in the 20th annual Cooling Industry Awards that celebrate the industry’s achievements on all fronts; from innovation to environmental progress, best practice and personal development.
“The Cooling Industry Awards are the biggest and most prestigious awards in the refrigeration and air conditioning sector. We’re delighted to have reached the final for the work that we did with Crimple in Harrogate where we used the waste heat from the refrigeration plant serving the Food Hall chill cabinets to supply the hot water for whole site,” said DK Heat Recovery’s Marketing Director, Nigel Upson.
The team face competition from Liebherr-Great Britain, BrainBox AI, RDM and SK Refrigeration Heating and Cooling in partnership with Wolseley Climate and Chemours and will learn whether they have been successful at an awards dinner at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on 21 September.
Based in Beverley, East Yorkshire with a satellite office in Peterborough, DK Heat Recovery is the sole UK agent of DK Kaelteanlagen GmbH’s heat recovery and water cooling systems and is supported by a network of installers and refrigeration engineers nationwide. It has installed heat recovery systems for food manufacturers, supermarkets, farm shops, butchers and garden centres over the last decade.
DK Heat Recovery’s systems are suitable for use in any business that has refrigeration plant and a requirement for hot water or space heating and are very cost effective compared with other carbon-reducing technologies.
