Garden Village will come alive this summer as it hosts its very first Open Gardens event on Saturday 13th June 2026, a vibrant celebration of community, creativity, and the beauty of one of the area’s most charming historic neighbourhoods.

For one special day, visitors are invited to explore 11 unique private gardens, each offering its own character, planting style, and inspiration. From peaceful retreats to colourful floral displays, the event promises something for seasoned gardeners, families, and curious visitors alike.
Among the highlights, attendees will have the rare opportunity to visit gardens at Dove House Hospice and Holderness House, adding a meaningful and historic dimension to the day. Visitors to Dove House Hospice will also be able to explore its beautiful memory garden and enjoy our onsite Café The Kitchen.
Adding a touch of magic, the event will also feature six enchanting Fairy Trails dotted throughout the village. These imaginative displays can be viewed from the front gates or hedges of participating homes, offering a delightful experience for children and families. Please note that Fairy Trail gardens are not open for entry, but visitors are warmly encouraged to enjoy the displays from outside the gates.
Tickets will be available to purchase on the day from:
- The Dove House onsite shop on Chamberlain Road
- The Dove House Shop on Holderness Road
- Holderness House
- The Garden Village Club House
- Nine of the participating open gardens
Please note: Fairy Trail locations will not be selling tickets.
Children under 16 go free, making this an accessible and affordable family day out.
This inaugural event marks a significant moment for Garden Village, showcasing not only its rich heritage but also the pride and passion of its residents. Visitors can expect a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, with opportunities to meet garden owners, exchange ideas, and gather inspiration for their own outdoor spaces.
Tiffany, Community Fundraiser at Dove House Hospice, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to bring you another Open Gardens Event this June, and this year is extra special as Garden Village opens its gardens for the very first time.
