Leading the way in creating equal opportunities for women in the workplace, Bio-D has secured ninth place on this year’s small businesses list, with the recognition following an employee survey and culture audit of the organisation’s programmes and practices.

Lloyd Atkin, managing director at Bio-D, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been officially recognised as a great workplace for women. A diverse and inclusive team is essential for the success of any organisation, and every business featured on this year’s list has been recognised for proactively addressing gender imbalance and investing in growing female talent.

“At Bio-D, we don’t just want to do good through our business activity, we also want our team to feel valued and motivated. This recognition means more as it is based on direct employee feedback, including the extent to which employees trust team leaders, the respect with which people are treated, the fairness of workplace decisions, and how much camaraderie there is among the team.”

With a current workforce of 41, 49% of staff at Bio-D are female, with 66% of the higher management team identifying as female.

Now in its fourth year, the Best UK Workplaces for Women recognition awards bases its results on analysing data from organisations that showcase good recognition, display a strong track record of continuously developing a diversified, equitable workplace culture for all.
