Hull-based digital marketing agency up for esteemed creative award

Hull-based digital marketing agency, Superfly Marketing, have been announced as finalists in the prestigious 2024 Prolific North Creative Awards.

The awards return for their second year after a hugely successful debut in 2023, their mission being “to unite the North and Scottish creative scenes, applaud the courage, showcase brilliant ideas, and pave the way for aspiring young creatives”. The awards organisers aim to recognise agencies and individuals who are “putting the North on the map in the creative sectors”, so the team at Superfly are thrilled to be finalists for the “Rebrand” award in the Leisure & Retail category as a result of their work on the Connexin Live Arena.

The announcement was made on 1 August 2023 that the arena’s name would change to Connexin Live, after a new five-year principal partnership deal was signed with technology company Connexin.

Being the digital marketing agency behind the arena’s new brand creatives, Superfly took on the challenge of bringing the partnership to life, delivering a modern, energetic and vibrant feel to the brand. The team set to work researching what the arena meant to the local community, what the expectations of its future audience were, and how they were going to communicate this evolutionary change. The venue has had a huge impact on the city and the people that live nearby, so there was a lot riding on the rebrand, ensuring it matched the ambitions of the city, the venue, the people of Hull, and of course, the new sponsors.

Connexin Live now has new brand creatives, developed by Superfly Marketing, along with all new print and digital communications. The new creatives delivered the concept “We’re Going Live”, which plays into the idea that entertainment connects people, creating memories that last a lifetime.

Brothers Nick and Charles Tyldsley embarked on their journey to transform the digital performance of companies in Hull and the East Yorkshire area in 2013. Managing Director of Superfly Marketing, Nick Tyldsley, said: “The Connexin rebrand means a lot to us. After ten years in business, winning and delivering such a high-profile rebrand shows that the hard work really does pay off. Everyone at Superfly Marketing is a huge music fan and we have strong ties to the industry. This is one of the most fun jobs we’ve ever worked on, and we’re so proud of the outcome.”
