Hull College dance students set to shine onstage at 2024 Hankook London E-Prix

Dance students at Hull College are gearing up for an electrifying performance at the highly anticipated 2024 Hankook London E-Prix – with none other than Craig David and Ella Henderson performing as the headline acts.

The prestigious event, serving as the double-header season finale of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, is set to take place on Saturday 20th July and Sunday 21st July at the Allianz E-Village.

Ella Henderson will kick-off the entertainment on Saturday, paving the way for singer and songwriter Craig David to top the bill the following day. Widely recognised as one of the biggest British artists of all time, David’s influence on music and culture spans over two decades. His TS5 DJ show, which has garnered global acclaim, promises to deliver an unforgettable performance blending classic anthems with current chart-toppers.

The seven talented Hull College students involved in this incredible opportunity are Louis Chance, Milly Collingwood, Giuomar Abreu, Emily Credland, Ellie Spamer, Tilly Orno, and KD- Mae. They will be supported by their dedicated tutors, Gina Hobson and Chelsea Short, throughout the preparation and execution of the performance.

The group have been hard at work in the college’s dance studios, rehearsing a routine provided by Pro-Excel – a unique events solution organisation specialising in linking education and community marketing strategies to effective sports entertainment packages. Their expert guidance will ensure that Hull College’s dance students are well-prepared to deliver a standout performance.

Gina Hobson, Assistant Head of Department at The Institute of Arts at Hull College, expressed her excitement about the opportunity for the college’s Dance students: “This is an incredible opportunity for our students to showcase their talent on the same stage as a music legend like Craig David. We are immensely proud of their hard work and dedication, and we have no doubts that they will deliver an outstanding performance to cap off what has been an amazing year for everyone involved in the Dance courses at the college.”

Ellie Spamer, currently studying a HNC in Dance at Hull College, said: “It’s going to be the biggest performance I’ve ever done in my life! I’m a little nervous but at the same time I couldn’t be more excited – it’s such an incredible opportunity and one that I’m very grateful for. This experience not only enhances our skills but also gives us a platform to shine. The support from our tutors, Gina Hobson and Chelsea Short, has been invaluable, and we are all committed to making this performance spectacular. The routine from Pro-Excel is challenging yet thrilling, and we are all eager to bring it to life on stage.”
