Hull mum and son spread joy for Random Acts of Kindness Day

Saturday was Random Acts of Kindness Day. Mum Laura, who has recently created The Empowerment Club, and her son Theo set to give out over 100 positive affirmation notes to people in the city centre.

The Empowerment Club, which is on Instagram (@.the.empowerment.club) was created to help people see their worth and inspire them to be the best versions of themselves. The club’s aim is to empower people and encourage them to be kind to themselves.

Notes handed out said the likes of “You always matter”, “Your uniqueness is what will change the world”, “You are amazing” and “Keep holding on”. The handwritten notes were left around the city for those to find who needed them and a number were handed out by Theo, who really enjoyed making people smile.

Laura said: “It was heartwarming to see people’s faces when they read the notes. You don’t know what people are going through. It was really lovely to spread joy and watch it put a smile on their face. We have had a number of people get in touch since to say how much they needed the little pick-me-up.”

Theo, 8 years old, had this to say: “I really enjoyed giving the notes out, it made me happy to see how happy it made other people.”
