The Director of Hull-based content marketing agency Different Resonance, Matt Johnson, will reveal 19 (and a half) marketing secrets as part of this year’s Humber Business Week programme.
As a business owner specialising in marketing, who has also worked as part of the Hull UK City of Culture 2017 team, Matt knows a trick or two about marketing, and the fundamentals that every business should understand – but may overlook.
“Having worked with brands of all shapes and sizes, I see marketers and small business owners facing the same challenges time and time again. Sometimes, taking it back to basics is the answer. Other times, it’s about looking beyond the obvious and unlocking another level of output.” explained Matt. “My aim for this event is that those who come along will understand when those different approaches are needed and how to implement them effectively.”
Matt is also a founding member of the Hull & East Yorkshire (HEY) Marketing Network, which is hosting the event. HEY Marketing Network, run by a group of volunteers, is an alternative, ‘down to earth’ professional forum specifically for marketers, businesses and marketing students with connections to Hull and East Yorkshire. For their first city centre event, they have partnered with The Edge Hub on Myton Street, which they hope will make it more accessible to small business owners who they believe will benefit most from this event.
“This is a great opportunity for HEY Marketing Network to take part in Humber Business Week and to bring our next event to a city centre audience by partnering with The Edge Hub,” said Matt. “Anyone looking to gain fresh marketing insights and share ideas and experiences in a relaxed environment will benefit from attending this event.”
Humber Business Week is an annual, weeklong celebration of the businesses and individuals making the Humber region a fantastic place to do business. With a packed programme that will kick off by Unveiling the Humber Placebrand and finish with The Business Day at Bridlington Spa, the HEY Marketing Network’s event will take place on Tuesday 4 June from 1pm-3pm and will be free to attend.
Matt added: “Despite calling the event “’9 (and a half) things you should know about marketing’, the HEY Marketing team and I believe those who join us will walk away with far more than just 19 (and a half) marketing secrets. That’s because we always include a chance to network with other attendees at our event and there will be the opportunity to ask me questions in an open Q&A session at the end.”
