Laundry Box Self-Service Launderettes will open its largest and most advanced site in North Hull next month. On 3rd October 2026, the company will officially launch its fifth location at North Point Shopping Centre.
North Point, home to more than 60 retailers ranging from high street brands to independents, is a key retail destination for Bransholme. The centre is delighted to welcome Laundry Box, further strengthening its diverse retail offering.
A proud Hull brand established in 2023, Laundry Box builds on a family legacy in the local laundry industry dating back to the 1950s. Director James Crumpton has a personal connection to North Point, as his father owned the original Civic Launderette when the centre first opened more than 50 years ago.
The award-winning Hull brand is redefining the traditional launderette, combining state- of-the-art self-service facilities with convenient laundry services in a clean, modern environment designed to feel more like a coffee shop.
The new site features MEGA 27kg washing machines for large family loads and duvets, and a dedicated pet washer and dryer. The new premises will introduce their leading Smart laundry lockers, offering professional dry cleaning and service washers available for customers to use at a time that suits them.
Designed around convenience, customers can wash and dry the equivalent of several household loads in under an hour with an easy-to-use payment system that accepts cash, card and mobile payments. With SMS notifications that update customers when their cycle is complete, customers are able to browse the other retail options on offer at the centre whilst they wait.

There’s a real sense of full circle, given my dad’s history with the Civic Launderette. However, Launderettes have changed enormously since then, and North Point will be our biggest and most advanced Laundry Box yet.
