Lotus Sanctuary launches campaign to give back to those facing homelessness in Hull this Christmas

Lotus Sanctuary CIC, the community interest company specialising in housing and empowering those who are facing homelessness, is looking for gift donations in Hull for their Giving Back at Christmas campaign.

The organisation, which celebrated its third birthday earlier this year, provides transitional supported housing and has helped over 1,000 vulnerable people since its inception.

What began with providing a safe home for vulnerable women suffering different issues – from substance misuse issues to domestic violence – has grown rapidly to provide over 2,000 beds across 55 local authorities and seven regions nationwide, as well as wrap around support that enables the development of the skills and confidence needed to rebuild their lives and continue their journey upwards.

Due to the vulnerable situations of many Lotus Sanctuary residents, they will likely be alone over the Christmas period, with no family or friends to celebrate with or share gifts.

Keen to change this and help spread some festive joy for residents – the Lotus Sanctuary team are calling on the generosity of local communities to give something back this Christmas.

Lotus Sanctuary CEO, Gurpaal Singh Judge, said: “Many of our residents will unfortunately be spending the festive season alone this year, and will sadly not even receive a present.

“This year has been particularly difficult for people across the UK for many reasons, so any gift donations, no matter how big or small, will be greatly appreciated and will truly brighten someone’s Christmas!”

Lotus Sanctuary are looking for unopened toiletries, perfumes, books, gift sets and any other items that will help make someone’s Christmas extra special.

Donations will be accepted up until 17 December. For more information on how and where to donate, please email donations@lotussanctuary.co.uk
