MS3 Networks announces sponsorship of Hull & East Yorkshire Powerchair Football Club player

Ultrafast full fibre wholesale broadband provider MS3 Networks continues to support the local community with its latest sponsorship of local powerchair footballer, Kai Gill.

The ultrafast full fibre wholesale network operator based in Hessle, East Yorkshire, provides a range of futureproofed connectivity options through its trusted partner internet service providers (ISPs) to bring choice and save businesses and residents money on their broadband bills.

Kai, who suffers from Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy Type 2D, plays powerchair football for Hull & East Yorkshire Powerchair Football Club. Despite not being able to walk or move his arms and having to rely on others to help him, as well as using a cough assist and ventilator, Kai does not let his condition prevent him from living his life to the full. The 27-year-old has been playing powerchair football for almost ten years.

Powerchair football is a unique sport that provides opportunities for people with a high level of impairment to access the game of football. It is the only active team participation sport for people who use electric wheelchairs.

The sport is fast-paced, dynamic and very enjoyable to watch. Due to the unique nature of the powerchair football, it allows all ages, disabilities and genders to compete together. Kai plays at both national and regional league levels for the Electric Eels’ first team as well as holding the position of captain and the club’s marketing and communications officer.

The sponsorship will see Kai carry MS3 Networks’ branding on his powerchair football bumper, social media and support MS3 to increase its brand awareness.

“I’m delighted and completely overwhelmed to receive support from MS3 Networks,” said Gill. “There are exciting times ahead for MS3, who has continued to roll out its ultrafast full fibre network in Hull, as well as Scunthorpe, Grimsby and Cleethorpes. With the cost of living rising, families are struggling to afford to pay bills and are looking for more affordable services, including internet. This is where I believe MS3 Networks can help.

“One thing I’ve found with MS3 Networks is its close work with our community is an integral part of the business. That really stood out for me and is something I strongly believe in. This is just the start for MS3 Networks and I’m really looking forward to working closely with the team.”

“Having supported Hull & East Yorkshire Powerchair Football Club as a member of the Electric Eels 100 Club since the beginning of the year, we were delighted to be able to offer our further support, added Adam Kelly, marketing manager at MS3. “Kai is a truly inspirational person and a great ambassador for powerchair football. We are thrilled to be able to work with him further as our relationship grows, supporting him to reach his goals.”
