Brough-based Luke’s Bakery is honouring National Sourdough Day on Tuesday 1st April with a callout for a Big Dough-nation.

Luke is inviting nominations for local heroes in Yorkshire or North Lincolnshire to receive a special delivery of his delicious, freshly-baked sourdough loaves. Whether it’s a charity, community group, public service team or other deserving organisation, this is a chance to say ‘thank you’ to those making a difference.
The chosen lucky recipients will receive a fresh bread delivery on Tuesday 1st April, hand-delivered by Luke himself. The bread can be used however they like – whether it’s a team tea and toast break, a bacon butty round or some extra special sourdough sarnies!
To nominate an organisation, visit the official Luke’s Bakery Facebook page or Instagram page and comment on their Dough-nation post by 5pm on Wednesday 26th March with the name of the organisation and why they deserve a delivery on National Sourdough Day.
At least one recipient will be chosen by Luke Jenneson, Founder of Luke’s Bakery. Luke says of the initiative: “The reason I created Luke’s Bakery two years ago was to share my love of sourdough with our local community. The more time we spend delivering loaves and hearing from our customers, the more we realise how many incredible people are out there, working hard to make a difference, and loads of them love proper bread!
“This National Sourdough Day, myself and the team want to say thank you by doing what we do best, baking bread! Please share your nominations for a Dough-nation with us on social media and let’s spread some love this National Sourdough Day!”
