North Point Shopping Centre unveils refurbished market hall as pub reopens

Bransholme’s favourite retail destination, North Point Shopping Centre, is celebrating a double milestone in its history as a refurbished and rebranded market hall is unveiled coinciding with transformed pub, The Sutton Arms, welcoming punters back after four years.

The Market Hall has undergone a substantial refurbishment programme which has delivered new flooring throughout, open space at the back of the market and new stall electrics including electric roller shutters. Fresh signage has also been installed, including a striking LED market entrance sign and new individual market stall signage.

The unveiling of the new market hall facility follows a critical year for the shopping centre, which proved to be a valuable community resource during the pandemic, providing vital retail services to local residents. A number of essential stores remained open and were depended upon by the community more than ever before.

During this time, pub company, Admiral Taverns, also transformed the former Foredyke pub which is situated alongside North Point Shopping Centre. The Sutton Arms is now open to the public and offers a fresh look and feel inside a completed revamped establishment. Its opening will be welcome news for Bransholme residents who haven’t been able to meet at the popular drinking venue since November 2017.

A spokesperson for North Point Shopping Centre, commented: “The last year has been incredibly tough for everyone in the community so we’re extremely proud to have played such an essential role in supporting people through this difficult time.

“As lockdown restrictions have eased and more of our shops have opened back up, it’s been wonderful to see a sense of normality return to the centre. With the refurbished and rebranded market and pub now unveiled, North Point’s place as a popular community resource is only going to be further cemented.”

North Point Shopping Centre, which celebrates 48 years at the heart of Bransholme this November, offers opportunities to shop at over 60 outlets with a range of community events and activities for local people.
