Social is set to host one of its most eclectic and heavyweight weeks of live music this November, welcoming four globally renowned acts across five days to the Humber Street stage.

Taking audiences on a massive musical journey from hypnotic world-electronica and pioneering space-rock to mod revival anthems and classic Philadelphia soul, the four-show run cements the Fruit Market venue’s reputation for bringing legendary and boundary-pushing touring artists to Hull.
Tuesday 17th November: Hang Massive
The run kicks off on Tuesday 17 November with Hang Massive, bringing their brand-new Beyond the Horizon live experience to the city. Fusing the organic, hypnotic tones of the handpan with deep electronic production, organic house, and downtempo grooves, the duo’s refined audiovisual show bridges the gap between meditative ceremony and club culture. Featuring new music and immersive stage design, it promises to be Hang Massive at their most expansive.
Wednesday 18th November: Ozric Tentacles
On Wednesday 18 November, UK festival circuit legends Ozric Tentacles take over. Formed during the solstice at Stonehenge Free Festival in 1983, the band has spent over four decades as psychedelic staples at Glastonbury and beyond. Led by the creative vision of multi-instrumentalist Ed Wynne, alongside Silas Wynne (keyboards), Corey Wallace (bass), Pat Garvey (drums), and Saskia Maxwell (flutes/modular synth), the Ozrics weave uniquely trippy soundscapes that connect fans of progressive rock, psychedelia, and dance music culture across a storied 17-album career.
Thursday 19th November: Secret Affair
The energy shifts into high gear, 1970s youth culture, on Thursday 19 November with the arrival of mod revival pioneers Secret Affair. Exploding onto the scene in 1979 after opening for The Jam, the band spearheaded the “Glory Boys” movement and scored five UK Singles Chart hits in just over two years, including the era-defining anthem Time For Action, alongside Let Your Heart Dance, My World, and Sound Of Confusion. Led by founding guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter Dave Cairns with a powerhouse seven-piece brass-and-Hammond touring band, Hull audiences can expect a sharp, horn-driven masterclass in British power-pop and soul.
Saturday 21st November: Eban Brown (former lead singer of The Stylistics)
Rounding out the week on Saturday 21 November is an intimate, unreserved seated show direct from the USA with classic soul icon Eban Brown. Known for his silky tenor vocals and signature falsetto, Brown fronted The Stylistics for nearly 20 years, the longest tenure of any lead vocalist in the group’s history, after celebrated stints with The Delfonics, The Manhattans, and Ray, Goodman & Brown. For one night only, he brings a timeless setlist of 1970s soul staples to Humber Street, including You Make Me Feel Brand New, Can’t Give You Anything (But My Love), You Are Everything, Betcha By Golly, Wow, and Rockin’ Roll Baby.
Damien Greco, Marketing Manager at Social, said: “To have four artists of this calibre and heritage playing our stage in the space of a single week is really special for Hull. We always aim to keep our programme at Social as vibrant and wide-ranging as possible, and this November run really captures what the venue is all about. Moving from the immersive electronica of Hang Massive and the festival psychedelia of Ozric Tentacles, right through to the mod anthems of Secret Affair and the timeless soul of Eban Brown, there is genuinely something for every kind of live music fan to experience up close in an intimate room.”
