Over 50 employers and training providers will be there to exhibit at this year’s Hull & East Riding Apprenticeship Expo.
It will take place in Bishop Burton College’s Equine Arena on Wednesday 30th September, and will be open to the public from 3:45pm – 6pm.
The event is aimed at young peoplein years 11, 12, 13 as well as members of the general public.
Home educated young people are invited to attend with their parents and carers, as well as care experienced young people, and young people who are not in education, employment or training.
Some of the employers and training providers exhibiting at the event include Arco, Swift, Hobson & Porter, the British Armed Forces, Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and many local colleges.
The event was jointly organised by Hull City Council, East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Bishop Burton College.
Apprenticeships continue to grow in popularity, both nationally and locally here in Hull and East Riding.
Data from the Department for Education (DfE) shows that apprenticeships among young people have risen nationally for the second consecutive year, with higher and degree apprenticeships showing particularly strong growth.
Locally, Hull and the East Riding consistently exceed the national average for 16–18-year-olds entering apprenticeships.
Despite this, employers across multiple sectors report ongoing recruitment challenges, while young people and parents continue to say that navigating apprenticeship options is confusing and often overwhelming.
This event aims to help bridge the gap by connecting local residents with employers, training providers and unbiased careers information.
Employed apprenticeships are not age restricted and anyone aged 16 or over may be eligible to start this type of training.

We are looking forward to welcoming over 1,000 young people and know it will help them make informed decisions about their next steps and future pathways.”
