Partnership offers corporate serviced accommodation in city centre

A partnership deal has been announced which will offer exclusive corporate serviced accommodation in Hull City Centre.

MyPad Serviced and Iguana Developments will offer a limited number of apartments at The Glass House, for local employers who provide temporary accommodation for their people.

Nikki Blowers, Director of MyPad Serviced, explains: “MyPad has a long-established working relationship with the Iguana Group of companies, which have provided accommodation for young professionals around Hull for over twenty years and, more recently completed three major developments in Hull City Centre and The Old Town, including The Glass House in Queen’s Gardens.

“MyPad Serviced works with a variety of local employers to provide temporary accommodation. It can be tricky finding the right solution for contractor teams, apprentices and management staff. From experience, we know that at the end of the working day, employees away from home want more than a hotel room or studio apartment. Therefore, I am very excited to be able to offer our clients this type of property.

“The Glass House appeals to our clients as a home-from-home where guests can cook their own meals and relax in front of the TV. However, The Glass House offers even more with the in-house gym, cinema, private dining room, games room, co-working space and concierge service. It provides a refreshing change for people who are used to working away from home.

“We have one-bed apartments for those who want their own space and we can also offer sharing options. This is working well for a group of young men and women, currently on a training contract with a local employer. As housemates they are living life in the city centre to the full, making good use of the local restaurants and retail outlets.”

Sarah Gill, Finance Director at Iguana Developments, said: “We are pleased that our City Centre schemes, Liberty House and Essex House, have been fully occupied for over two years. The Glass House is also approaching full occupancy with a broad community of owner-occupiers, young professionals, retirees and others who choose to rent.

“We agreed to make a limited number of apartments available to MyPad Serviced as they offer an exceptional service, which includes anything from a simple weekly clean to chef-prepared meals and transport to their place of employment. This approach is unique in the city and we wanted to be part of it.

“We are very proud of The Glass House. It’s an iconic building which represents a positive change in mindset for Hull. It’s a beacon of regeneration and we are thrilled that so many people embraced our ethos to provide something new and exclusive, a first of its kind in the whole of the north of England. Now other developers around Yorkshire follow our lead, providing similar smart amenities for residents.”
