Performance development agency celebrates a decade of success

Launched by Gareth Allen and Tim Powell in 2013, the pair started the agency from Gareth’s garage conversion. Graduates from Hull University, Gareth and Tim have web development and marketing backgrounds.

Sharing the same vision to build a full-service agency, they joined forces. Ten years on, the agency is now a 25-strong herd of experts working with brands across the globe to drive business growth.

Herd has doubled the number of directors and increased the team by 39% in the last 12 months alone, building up its roster of both national and international brands in sectors from retail to insurance and the automotive sector. Herd’s partners include Curvy Kate, Face the Future, Motorpoint, Vertu Motors, Culligan, and Vue Pass, part of Ello Group.

Herd’s success can be attributed to its unique approach, utilising proprietary technology, data-driven strategy, and creativity that puts the user first. By harnessing a performance development approach, the agency empowers partners with solutions for growth to outshine their competition in the digital landscape.

One of the agency’s recent developments is Parity, extending Herd’s proprietary toolkit. Parity identifies paid search savings by automatically reducing media spending where there’s no competition and organic visibility is strong. This allows media budgets to be redistributed more effectively for holistic growth. Parity is just one of many technology developments on the roadmap.
