Pub to Pub Walk raises glasses in support of local causes this summer

This summer will see hundreds of walkers dig out their walking boots to tackle 12 miles of East Yorkshire’s beautiful countryside, shoreline, villages and towns, all in support of worthy local causes.

Organised by Dove House Hospice, the Pub to Pub Walk takes place on Saturday 10 August with a circular route starting and finishing at the Humber Bridge Country Park in Hessle. Along the route, participants can call in for a well-deserved refreshment stop at the Country Park Hotel, Duke of Cumberland, Swan & Cygnet, Wheatsheaf, Darleys, and the Marquis of Granby.

Dan Clipson, Senior Fundraiser at Dove House Hospice, said: “We are delighted to launch the hospice’s first ever Pub to Pub Walk. Support from the community is of huge importance to causes across Hull and East Yorkshire and it is hoped that the event raises thousands of pounds locally as walkers challenge themselves and have lots of fun at the same time”.

Charities signed up to take part are Dove House Hospice, Hull and East Yorkshire Children’s University, RSPCA Hull and East Riding, fitmums and friends, aScEND Hull and Aim Higher.

Registration is £20 and each cause asks participants to raise at least £25 in additional sponsorship. Registration includes a branded Pub to Pub Walk T-shirt for you to wear on the day, along with a medal upon completion of your walk.
