Pure Broadband welcomes first customer to Hull’s brand new full fibre network

The first customers have been connected to Hull’s new alternative full fibre broadband network, thanks to a partnership between Hessle-based provider, Pure Broadband, and fibre network operator, MS3.

Residents in the HU4 postcode were the first to join the network this week, with orders already in place which will see expansion across the city.

Alan Watson, who lives in Askew Avenue, Hull, was the first person to be connected to the new service. He said: “The team at Pure Broadband have been excellent. Due to my blindness, having access to reliable internet is very important. From making appointments, calling friends, and using audio description services through my new Amazon Show, it is something that I rely on.

“I have been a Pure Broadband customer for five years, and joining the new network for full fibre with Pure Broadband has been a very easy process and I can’t fault them at all.”

Pure Broadband already serves thousands of homes and businesses in Hull and the East Riding, and its partnership with MS3 will see it continue to welcome new customers.

MS3 is building full fibre infrastructure in several areas of the city as it expands its footprint significantly to finally provide residents with the range of broadband options that much of the rest of the UK take for granted.

Its network build is on track to pass 1,000 homes in the city every week.

Tony Jopling, Pure Broadband managing director, said: “We’re delighted to be able lead the way in giving a fresh choice to the people of Hull when it comes to full fibre broadband, thanks to our partnership with MS3.

“Better prices and first-class customer service are vital to customers, and we are proud to be able to offer both to households in our home city which has suffered with lack of competition in the broadband market for far too long. Our partnership with MS3 allows us to deliver internet speeds up to 900Mbps, with pricing starting from just £28 for 100Mbps, potentially saving customers £100’s per year.

“MS3 continues to roll out full fibre across the city and people can check if it’s available in their area using the postcode checker on the Pure Broadband website. We’re already taking orders and can’t wait to start connecting more customers.”

Pure Broadband was the brainchild of two Hull-based IT professionals, born of a desire to provide an alternative broadband supplier in the Hull area, where KCOM had long been the dominant provider.

The company already has several thousand full-fibre broadband customers across Hull and is also expanding into Yorkshire and beyond as its impressive reputation continues to grow, with 5,000 new customers signing up in the last 12 months alone.
