Taken from the album Backs Against the Wall, “Goodbye (To Life on the Inside)” is the follow up to Andrew Thomas’s last single “South Padre Sun”.
“Goodbye (To Life on the Inside)” is a song written about taking a second chance.
Everyone makes mistakes. Some are fortunate enough to get away with their mistakes, having little to no consequences; some are left with the harsh reality of their actions. But as we grow and develop, it’s about making the right choices in the future. Becoming a better version of ourselves. Standing up and being counted especially for those that need and love us most.
“Goodbye (To Life on the Inside)” see’s Andrew draw on his 90s & 00s Britpop influences.
“For this song I wanted to capture some of the sounds that influenced me as a youngster (Manic Street Preachers, Doves, Stereophonics). There was a part of me that questioned if this was the right way to go, as I’m so used to singing with an acoustic guitar. I’m really delighted the way it turned out.”
For this track, Andrew again reached out to producer by Mikey Scott in Canada. The pair worked remotely in their own studios, bringing the song together from different continents.
