Yorkshire-based strategic creative agency Sowden & Sowden has appointed Jon Patrick as Senior Account Manager as the business continues to expand its digital, strategic and client delivery capabilities across a growing national client portfolio.

Jon’s appointment follows the recent arrival of Louise Scott as Head of Client Services and reflects the agency’s continued investment in senior client leadership as it supports increasingly ambitious digital growth strategies and commercially focused client partnerships.
Bringing extensive experience across e-commerce, digital marketing and performance strategy, Jon joins the agency following a career working across major national and international brands including Mars, Durex, Greene King, Hobbs, Viking Direct and DeAgostini.
His background spans SEO, paid search, CRO, Shopify development, digital performance strategy and large-scale web projects, alongside experience supporting international expansion, integrated campaign delivery and complex re-platforming programmes.
Throughout his career, Jon has worked across FMCG, retail, health and leisure sectors, delivering digital campaigns designed to improve customer engagement, drive growth and support long-term business performance. His experience also includes award-winning work, contributing to a Performance Marketing Award-winning SEO content campaign.
The appointment comes as Sowdens continues to build its strategic, creative and digital capabilities across sectors including broadband, healthcare, software, education and energy.
The agency works with organisations including Quickline, global Japanese tech giant NEC Software Solutions, City Health Care Partnership CIC, Hull York Medical School and Ørsted.
Polly Sowden, Owner, Creative Lead and Director at Sowden & Sowden, said: “Jon brings exactly the kind of digital and client management experience we’re continuing to build into the agency.
“He understands how performance, strategy and client relationships need to work together to deliver meaningful results, particularly across complex or
fast-moving accounts.
“As our client portfolio evolves, strengthening that strategic delivery capability remains incredibly important to us.”
In his new role, Jon will support account development, integrated campaign delivery and digital growth projects across the agency’s expanding portfolio.
“What attracted me to Sowdens was the ambition of the agency, the quality of the work and the opportunity to work closely with clients across a really diverse mix of sectors,” said Jon.
“There’s a strong balance between creativity, strategic thinking and commercial focus, which is increasingly important as clients expect agencies to deliver measurable business outcomes, not just outputs.
“My approach has always been centred around understanding a client’s business and becoming part of their wider team. The deeper that understanding, the better the results.”
Polly added that while technology and AI are evolving quickly, clients still need agencies that can provide clarity and strategic direction.
“The most effective work starts with understanding the ‘why’ behind a campaign or project before creative or delivery even begins.”
Jon’s appointment also comes as Marketing Executive Sami Bourne celebrates her first year with the agency, reflecting Sowdens’ continued investment in developing talent from within.
Since joining the business, Sami has grown her role across client services, social media and content, supporting accounts including City Health Care Partnership CIC, Ørsted and Hull York Medical School, while also taking greater ownership of the agency’s own social media and marketing activity.
Polly said: “Sami has had a brilliant first year with us and has quickly become a valued member of the team.”
“She has grown in confidence, taken on more responsibility and brought real energy to our marketing and content activity. She is a great example of what we want to continue building at Sowdens: talented people who care about the work, support each other and want to keep learning.”
“Alongside Jon’s appointment and Louise joining as Head of Client Services, Sami’s first anniversary is another reminder that growth is not just about adding new people. It is also about creating an environment where good people want to stay, develop and make an impact.”
The appointment forms part of the Yorkshire digital agency’s ongoing investment in strengthening its strategic, creative and digital capabilities across regional, national and international accounts.
