Sci-fi fans are in for a treat with some very special guests heading to Comic Con Mania Hull later this month.
The special guest line-up features the legendary Hattie Hayridge, best known as Holly from Red Dwarf; actor, puppeteer, and stunt performer Deep Roy, who played all the Oompa Loompas in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory; and Jimmy Vee of Doctor Who, Star Wars and Harry Potter fame.
Comic Con Mania, one of the UK’s most exciting pop culture conventions, is back at Connexin Live, Hull on Saturday 31 May 2025, 11am-4pm.
Organised by Monopoly Events, this one-day extravaganza celebrates the best in movies, TV, gaming, anime, and more, welcoming fans from across the country for a fun-filled experience.

From her hilarious AI antics aboard the Red Dwarf to her stand-up comedy brilliance, Hattie Hayridge is a true icon of British sci-fi and comedy.
Deep Roy is a Kenyan-British actor, puppeteer, and stunt performer known for his versatility and memorable character portrayals. He has delivered standout performances in roles such as Teeny Weeny in The NeverEnding Story, all the Oompa-Loompas in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Keenser in the Star Trek films, as well as in television series including The X-Files, Doctor Who, and Eastbound & Down.
Jimmy Vee is the legendary actor behind some of Sci-Fi’s most iconic characters, from the Star Wars universe to the big screen.
Autograph and photo opportunities with special guests will be available to purchase on the day.
This year’s event also promises thrilling attractions and immersive experiences including the ultimate costume contest, live panels and Q&A sessions, a chance to interact with set builds and props, and a dedicated gaming area featuring retro and modern video games.
