University of Hull graduate’s film success

Promising young University of Hull graduate, Marjorie A. Thomas, joins the ranks of  Kickstarter’s few success stories by smashing her film’s goal this month.

Marjorie’s film exceeded its target by 36% in a landscape where more than 60% of Kickstarter film campaigns fail to come close. This level of success speaks volumes as to how important her story is to tell.

(im)pure is a hard-hitting, raw experimental drama that seeks to raise awareness of a rare form of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder – “Pure O”.

Set to be shot in Los Angeles, the dark and emotive film has a strong and seasoned Hollywood cast backing it too. The lead is played by Isabella Rae Thomas (Brothers & Sisters / A Better Life) and  supported by Gilles Marini (Sex and the City / Days of our Lives).

Between a fascinating character-led story and the talented actors bringing them to life, Marjorie’s (im)pure is set to be a film that will keep its audience hooked from beginning to end.

The University of Hull alumna has also managed to secure an exciting US/UK co-production on the project and has her sights set on film festival success.
