West Hull Community Hub connects people face-to-face and online

West Hull Community Hub is proud to announce its membership in the Good Things Foundation’s National Digital Inclusion Network and becoming a National Databank Organisation, reinforcing its commitment to tackling digital exclusion in Hull.

As part of the National Digital Inclusion Network, West Hull Community Hub – based at Johnny Whiteley Park, North Road, Hull – will provide essential digital support to individuals who struggle to access or use online services. The Hub aims to bridge the digital divide and empower local people with the skills and confidence needed to navigate the digital world.

Additionally, as a National Databank Organisation, the Hub will offer free mobile data, texts, and calls to eligible individuals facing financial hardship. This initiative ensures that those at risk of digital exclusion — such as older adults, job seekers, and low-income households — can stay connected with vital online services, employment opportunities, and social networks.

Anji Gardiner, Trustee at West Hull Community Hub, said: “Being part of the National Digital Inclusion Network and the National Databank is a huge step forward in our mission to support the local community. We know that many people struggle to get online due to cost, lack of confidence, or limited digital skills. Our goal is to provide practical help, whether that’s through free data, one-on-one digital support, or group sessions to build confidence online.”

West Hull Community Hub is more than just a digital inclusion provider—it is a vital resource offering a warm, welcoming space where people of all ages – but predominantly older people – can access support, advice, and social connection. From providing hot meals and tackling food poverty to hosting well-being activities and sports programmes, the Hub plays a key role in improving lives.

As one of the first Rugby Football League Community Wellbeing Hubs, the organisation is committed to bringing people together, reducing loneliness, and promoting healthier lifestyles.

It has been supporting older and vulnerable residents through initiatives like WarmWelcome@JWP, financial resilience support, and a thriving network of community-led activities over the past few years.

By expanding its digital inclusion work, West Hull Community Hub strengthens its mission to ensure that no one in the community is left behind — whether online or in everyday life.
