Local housebuilder, Barratt Developments Yorkshire East, raised an incredible £60,000 over a 12 month period for Yorkshire Air Ambulance, its charity of the year for 2022/23.
The chosen charity, Yorkshire Air Ambulance, is an independent charity that provides lifesaving rapid response emergency services to five million people across communities in Yorkshire and relies on the generosity of individuals and organisations to ensure the service can continue. Relying solely on donations, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance need to raise £19,000 every day, just to keep their fleet running and saving lives.
As part of the local housebuilder’s charity of the year initiative, the team at Barratt Developments Yorkshire East held various fundraising activities to raise funds and awareness for Yorkshire Air Ambulance, including their annual Red Ball event, which welcomed over 300 guests to York Racecourse, where charitable donations were raised through ticket and table sales, a raffle, and a silent auction.
On receiving the housebuilder’s support, Linda Stead, Regional Fundraising Manager at Yorkshire Air Ambulance, commented: “As an independent charity, we do rely on the generosity of local people and companies such as Barratt Developments, and we’d like to say a huge thank you for their support and fundraising over the past 12 months.
“This money will enable us to keep our helicopters running and continue to continue to save lives across Yorkshire.”
Daniel Smith, Managing Director of Barratt Developments Yorkshire East, added: “We’re so pleased that we’ve been able to partner with Yorkshire Air Ambulance over the past year, and help the charity to continue with their incredible efforts across the region. I would like to extend my gratitude to each and every individual who has supported our partnership, be that attending our annual Red Ball charity event or partaking in fundraisers, and a special thanks to the volunteers on our charity committee who have made all of this possible.
“We look forward to continuing to support charities across the region, be that through our monthly Community Fund initiative, stand-alone donation activities or through our new Charity Of The Year for 2023/34.”
