A Great Christmas Adventure gets underway at Hull Truck Theatre between 18 – 24 December, where children aged 3 – 6 and their families join a quest to save Christmas.
The Adventure features an arts & crafts session followed by an interactive performance where the children’s craft items come to life as part of the interactive play.
Hull Truck Theatre’s Great Adventures in Storyland runs monthly throughout the year, and this year has also been touring to community venues during half terms. This is a Christmas take on the popular show and offers a wonderful first theatre experience for young children.
Each Great Adventure has been totally different featuring a new theme every time. We have enjoyed many adventures, where we have explored the jungle, journeyed across the desert, and even met some pirates. Now that it’s time to discover the wintery wood, will you help us get back in time for Christmas?
Janthi Mills-Ward, Executive Director at Hull Truck Theatre, said:
“We are delighted to be able to create a festive show for young children and their families. That first Christmas theatre trip has always been an important part of our programme but this year, is made even more special due to not being able to do it last year. We know that our younger audiences might not be ready for a full-length production like The Railway Children so are excited to be able to have an interactive offering for little ones to experience the magic of theatre at Christmas.
“Thanks to the Government’s Cultural Recovery Fund, we’ve developed a festive version of our popular programme, Great Adventures in Storyland and I know I am really looking forward to coming with my young family to create our own masterpieces that in true Great Adventures in Storyland style will be used as essential props for the show! We’re also looking forward to next year, when we’ll be back up and running at full scale with Jack, Mum, and the Beanstalk as part of our 50th anniversary.”
