Classic car rally charity event returns to Hesslewood Office Park

Hesslewood Office Park’s Good Causes Fund is back this summer with its third Classic Car Rally Charity Event.

Previous years’ rallies have been a great success and it is hoped that this year will be bigger and better than ever. Whether you are a vintage vehicle fan or not, with so many attractions and activities for the whole family to enjoy, this 100% not-for-profit charity fundraiser is a day out for everyone to take part in.

Everyone is invited to join the fun on Sunday 20 August from 10am until 3pm. The event address is Hesslewood Office Park, Hessle, HU13 0LH.

Brooklands Property Holdings CEO, Debbie Barbor, said: “The 2022 Classic Car Rally raised well over £6,000 for local projects that the fund supports. A good footfall on the day is vital. Last year we welcomed 700 visitors through Hesslewood Office Park on the day, and we hope to see that same local support again this year.”

If you live or work in or around Hessle, you might be familiar with the Hesslewood Office Park signage that stands proudly at the entrance to the estate; a development of Grade 2 listed and newly built offices set within ten acres of landscaped parkland. This stunning setting, with the Humber Bridge as backdrop, is where this car rally is hosted each year.

Over the years, the Hesslewood Office Park Good Causes Fund – through a wide range of fundraising events and activities – has been able to offer financial support to well over 20 local causes, charities and volunteer-led facilities across the region.

“We are really proud of our team and the work that takes place to support these fantastic local projects. This year we are supporting North Ferriby Riding For The Disabled, Humber Rescue, West Hull Bobcats and Haltemprice Skate Park,” said Debbie.

Peter Barbor, Chairman of Brooklands Property Holdings, explains how his long-held passion for classic cars inspired the event: “Our previous Classic Car Rallies, in association with East Yorkshire Thoroughbred Car Club, have attracted over 100 classic car and supercar exhibitors, from all over the region, which is just fantastic to see. This year we even have a vintage tank for families to explore.”

This year, in addition to the brilliant range of vehicles on show, you can also enjoy:

  • A wide range of drinks and street food
  • Stalls by local vendors selling all manner of gifts, homeware, crafts and treats
  • Meeting alpacas and even taking one for a stroll
  • Birds of prey displays by East Riding Falconry
  • A fire engine to hop on board
  • Humber Rescue are bringing their boat for you to explore
  • Family fun in the lawn games area
  • A huge raffle with fantastic prizes donated by generous regional businesses
  • Take part in the blind auction and win a once-in-a-lifetime experience in ‘Smoky’ the prestigious classic Bentley
  • Face painting and glitter tattoos

Visitor entry to the event is £2.50 for individuals or £5 for a family ticket. These can be bought in advance here or on the gate.

Car and motorbike exhibitors are welcomed, even on the day, though booking in advance online is encouraged here. The exhibitor charity donation is £5 when pre-booked or £10 on the gate and includes visitor entry for the driver and all passengers.

This year, there is also a ‘sealed-bid’ auction with a very special prize for the winning bidder. DT Vintage have donated a once-in-a-lifetime experience where the winner will take a chauffeured drive out into the countryside, in Smoky – the famous, LeManns winning 1920s vintage Bentley – stopping for a bite to eat along the way. You can enter your sealed bid in person at the event or even remotely. Full prize and entry details are available here.

Debbie says: “We would encourage your readers to come along and support the day, to tell everyone they know about the event and to share our posts on social media. Let’s make this year the biggest and best event yet!”
